I was window shopping the other day when this pink box caught my eye. I actually forgot about it then remembered it so I tried researching on my own for some reviews and even watched a review on YouTube. The video review isn't encouraging, the lady said its not worth it and clearly she was in a struggle while trying it on. I figured what the heck - I'll buy one and we'll see.
Here's what the bun maker looks like out of the box:
It looks like a caterpillar - kinda spongy, very light and rough which I think is good so it won't slip on your hair and ruin the bun.
The central cord has a round black bead for you to easily pull it out when securing your bun. But I don't use this cord after I roll and snap my bun because when I tried it - it becomes a messy bun.
I have fine, smooth and straight hair. I would consider my hair on the thin side - cut is layered and about 3 inches long below my shoulders.
I first tried the small bun maker. I didn't have a hard time using it.
But the my bun's shape is not that perfect. Take a look:

I thought I would be using the small bun maker the most and forget about the large one.
When I tried it, I had a hard time snapping it together. Took me about 5 minutes.
But with practice, I got used to it and can now snap it on easily.

My buns were not secured by the central cord of the bun maker but it holds up pretty well. I didn't use hair pins or any hair sprays too.
I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to don that bun during special occasions.
I can't guarantee though that it will work for women with very long and thick hair.
Its indeed a must have simple styling solution - for sure people around you would secretly wonder how you've done your perfect round bun.
